B@tCH News-27 June 2010

B@tCH this week ….

We welcome Rev. Geoffrey and Gillian Skilton to our service.

Geoff will speak with us during the teaching slot.  In Presbyterian traditions this is “Preaching to the Call”

Just as we are asked to discern what God is saying to us during the teaching slot normally, this is no different.  We are discerning God’s will for us as Parish with regard to how Geoffrey fits into the mix. It’s a good tradition.  It’s not an audition.  He is also discerning the fit.

We will also be Blessing/dedicating Eliana Nicol and her parents before the Lord.

SO

They devoted themselves to the Apostles teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread and to prayer. This week Geoffrey will speak on aspects of our prayer life.

Helping this week  Richard and Yvonne,   Barry W, the Lambies

  • There is a meeting on July the 11th at 11am to vote yes or no to Geoffrey’s ‘call’. As it is a week off at B@tCH the Council have allowed email voting should you be unable to attend in person. These papers will be sent separately next week
  • This is the last week of the term.  Next term I will be picking up on some aspects raised over the past 4 weeks.
  • Ian and Patricia are away in Central speaking to the Church in Queenstown about the B@tCH way.
  • We will have 4 Pastor/leaders from Christchurch Baptist churches at B@tCH on Sunday looking at what we are doing.  I will be following up with them on Monday.
  • We farewell Anja who is returning to Germany and Mark L who is heading to Japan to join his family for the next 6 months.  Safe travels, and many Blessings
